Indian rum, rich in tradition and flavor
India is a country with a long tradition in the production of sugarcane-based alcoholic beverages. Although India is best known for its whisky, rum occupies an important place, especially among the military and in the south of the country. Some Indian rums have won international awards for their quality.
Characteristics:
It is made primarily from locally grown sugar cane, which gives it a distinctive aromatic and flavor profile, with notes that can range from exotic fruits to cocoa and vanilla.
Many Indian rums are distilled following secret family recipes and traditional methods, such as the use of copper stills.
Note:
It is important not to confuse these rums with Spanish products that use the name “Indias” in their brand, which have no relation to India as a producing country.
