Cuban rum, the true icon of the Caribbean
Cuban rum is a true icon of the Caribbean, recognized worldwide for its smoothness, complexity, and centuries-old tradition.
Protected by the Denomination of Controlled Origin (DOC), it is distinguished by a unique sensory profile and a production tradition that combines historical techniques with high-quality standardized processes.
It is classified into two main categories:
White rum (light): aged between 18 and 36 months, with a neutral character and versatility, ideal for cocktails and industrial blends.
Dark rum (aged): aged for up to 5 years, it has greater aromatic complexity and is intended for direct consumption or for the production of premium rums.
Made exclusively from Cuban sugar cane, its production process is based on continuous distillation, which gives it lightness and smoothness compared to other Caribbean styles. Aging in oak barrels, usually ex-bourbon, gives it characteristic notes of dried fruit, cocoa, vanilla, and caramel.
Thanks to the combination of tropical climate, local raw materials, and the expertise of master rum makers, Cuban rum maintains a unique position in the international market that is difficult to replicate outside the island.
Ages available: from 6 months to 4 Y.O.
